March 28, 2013: Scientific specialist James Hyslop poses for photographs with a partially fossilized egg of an elephant bird at Christie’s auction house in London on March 27. The egg, which is estimated to fetch $30,210 to $45,315 at auction, is more than 100 times the size of a chicken egg. The extinct elephant bird was native to Madagascar & among the heaviest known birds.
