A Artist Profle
Our heritage: It’s who we are! Thousands of generations
we represent them. We artists take nothing and make
something of it.

Research shows that humans have an innate desire to
experience altered states of consciousness. Observing,
appreciating and producing art allows us to step outside
of the mundane, pedantic experience of everyday life.
The healthiest fulfllment of this innate desire for me is
through the peaceful transcendence of painting. My
subject matter ranges from things close to my heart
like children and dance to dreamscapes that symbolize
signifcant events and emotions in my life.

Black lifestyles. I try to capture the richness of the
culture—the dance and music. I call it old spirit
art; it represents a past, refective of the African-
American experience.
