Megan Thee Stallion Brought The Heat To Miami Swim Week With A Runway Full Of Hot Girl Energy

The rapper, entrepreneur, and certified Hot Girl Coach celebrated the latest chapter of her swimwear empire with a size-inclusive runway show that turned Miami into her personal catwalk.
Megan Thee Stallion is still out here doing big things and looking fabulous while doing them. The H-town hottie showed up at PARAISO Miami Swim Week and set the runway ablaze with some fire swimsuits from her latest collection, oozing all the “Hot Girl” summer energy.
The Grammy-winning rapper returned to Miami Swim Week to showcase the second collection from her growing Hot Girl Summer swimwear brand, proving that her influence goes far beyond music. The runway presentation featured a colorful lineup of bikinis, monokinis, one-pieces, and cover-ups designed to celebrate confidence, curves, and individuality. The collection also expanded to include menswear and even pet pieces (Hot Dog Summer), further cementing Megan’s vision of an inclusive Hot Girl Summer for everyone.
The show was an energy-filled celebration that embodied everything fans have come to expect from Megan: bold colors, unapologetic confidence, and all the fun. Models of varying sizes and backgrounds strutted down the catwalk in bright green, blue, pink, and shell-inspired prints while dancing, smiling, and embracing the carefree spirit of summer.
Megan saved one of the biggest moments for herself. Closing out the show, the “Lover Girl” rapper hit the runway in a striking seashell-inspired monokini featuring dramatic, side cutouts and a swirling graphic print. In true stallion fashion, she pranced her way down the catwalk as the crowd showered her with cheers and actual flowers.
Megan’s Miami Swim Week takeover comes during a year of personal transition for the star. In recent months, the multi-hyphenate ended her relationship with NBA player Klay Thompson after accusing him of infidelity. While neither has publicly shared many details, Megan’s latest runway appearance acted as a reminder that she’s continuing to focus on herself, her business ventures, and the growing empire she’s building apart from music (boy bye!).
Let’s go, Meg!!

Cynthia Erivo opens up about the backlash that made her step back from Oscar campaigning for ‘Wicked: For Good’

Erivo said commentary targeting her appearance after she shielded Grande from a fan affected her decision to step back from campaigning.
Cynthia Erivo broke down exactly why she stepped back from campaigning for an Oscar for “Wicked: For Good,” and the Singapore incident is at the center of it.
In an interview with Variety published May 27, the Tony Award-winning actress said the “insidious” online backlash that followed her instinctive decision to shield Ariana Grande from a fan who jumped a barricade and attempted to grab Grande at a “Wicked: For Good” premiere event in November 2025 played a direct role in her choice. As theGrio previously reported, SZA called the memes mocking Erivo’s body and appearance “classic misogynoir”, and Erivo was praised when the Cynthia Erivo Singapore attack video went viral, showing her crossing in front of Michelle Yeoh to shield Grande from the intruder. People, citing the Variety interview, reported Erivo’s full account of both the incident and its aftermath.
“Nobody moved. Nobody moved,” Erivo said of the moment, when Johnson Wen, known as Pyjama Man, charged towards Grande during the premiere. “So I moved because my brain went, ‘Get him away! Get him out of here!’ My immediate reaction was ‘Get him away from us.’ And what people couldn’t see is that he wouldn’t let go [of Grande]. He wouldn’t let go. So I just kept pushing at him to get him off.”
What followed was the part that broke something in her. Erivo described being hit with memes and TikTok videos aimed at her physique, her bald head, and what she called assumptions rooted in how people see Black women. “I just felt like my humanity had been bastardized,” she told Variety. “I felt like something I did instinctively had been made to be something that it simply was not because of the way people see women who look like me, and because of the assumptions that are made, and I just didn’t want to be a part of that, really and truly.”
She said the backlash compounded a feeling that the awards push was already weighted against her. “I didn’t want to put myself through it,” Erivo said of the Oscar campaign. “I didn’t feel like I deserved it. It didn’t help.” She added that “there was already a sort of upturned nose at the second installment, even though we all knew there was a second film coming and we were just doing our jobs.”
Despite all of it, Erivo said “Wicked” changed her life. She and Grande still text almost daily. When asked about those who doubted their friendship was real, she was direct: “I think that people didn’t really believe that we were actually friends. But that’s also because people don’t know me very well. If I’m a friend, then I’m a friend. If I’m not, then I’m not.”

Idris Elba is ‘not in the race’ to play James Bond

Elba denied the rumors that he would play 007 in the upcoming James Bond reboot.
Idris Elba is shutting down the James Bond conversation, saying he will not be the next actor to play 007 in the upcoming reboot.
“My name’s not getting thrown out, no way,” Elba, 53, told People. “They’re going younger. And I wish them all the luck of the world. I can’t wait — it’s going to be amazing.”
Earlier this month, Amazon MGM Studios confirmed that auditions are underway for the next James Bond film, directed by Denis Villanueve and produced by Pascal Pictures’ Amy Pascal and Heyday Films’ David Heyman. But Elba denied that he would be the leading man in this adaptation. And despite rumors that have been circulating for years, the “Top Boy” star also claimed that he was never being considered for the character at all.
“I’m honestly not in the race ever. I wasn’t in the race in the first place,” he said.
For years, Elba’s name was constantly dropped as a potential pick for the next James Bond movie. If cast, he would’ve been the first Black actor and even nonwhite actor to embody the iconic character, who was last played by Daniel Craig in the 2021 film, “No Time to Die.”
The rumors that Elba was going to take on the role next made caused a strong reaction among James Bond fans. While many applauded the choice, the British actor received a lot of racist blowback.
“Essentially, it was a huge compliment that every corner of the world, except from some corners, which we will not talk about, were really happy about the idea that I could be considered,” Elba said on the “SmartLess” podcast with Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes in 2023. “Those [who] weren’t happy about the idea made the whole thing disgusting and off-putting, because it became about race. It became about nonsense, and I got the brunt of it.”
The phenomenom that Elba described is unfortunately not an isolated incident. Over the years, Hollywood has reimagined some of its fictional characters in works like “The Little Mermaid,” “Harry Potter,” and “Star Wars” to be played by Black actors, and many of those actors have caught the wrath of fans who sent them hateful messages, insults, and even death threats. Earlier this year, Paapa Essiedu said that he’d been told by Harry Potter fans, “Quit, or I’ll murder you,” after it was announced that he’d be playing Severus Snape in the HBO adaptation of the book series.
“…Nobody should have to encounter this for doing their job,” Essiedu said, reacting to the hate he’d received. “Many people put their lives on the line in their work. I’m playing a wizard in ‘Harry Potter.’ And I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t affect me emotionally.”

Supreme Court Lets Brian Flores’ Racial Discrimination Lawsuit Against NFL Move Forward

The high court declined to hear the case, allowing Flores’ racial discrimination lawsuit against the NFL and several teams to move forward.
The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to step into National Football League defensive coordinator Brian Flores’ ongoing racial discrimination lawsuit against the league, a decision that allows one of the most closely watched employment cases in professional sports to continue moving through the courts.
On May 26, the nation’s highest court refused to review a lower court ruling that sided with Flores in his dispute with the NFL over whether his claims should be heard publicly in court or privately through league arbitration, USA Today reports.
Flores, who currently serves as defensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings, filed the lawsuit in 2022 after alleging that racial discrimination influenced the Miami Dolphins’ decision to fire him following the 2021 season. Flores had posted back-to-back winning seasons with Miami and claimed the organization treated him unfairly compared to white coaches around the league.
His lawsuit also accused the New York Giants and the Denver Broncos of discriminatory hiring practices. Flores alleged that the Giants interviewed him for a head coaching position despite already planning to hire another candidate, while he also claimed the Broncos conducted a sham interview years earlier.
In addition, Flores accused the Houston Texans of backing away from his candidacy for a head coaching role in retaliation after he filed the lawsuit. Two other Black coaches later joined Flores’ legal action, which has intensified scrutiny over diversity and hiring practices across the NFL.
The league has repeatedly denied Flores’ allegations and argued that disputes like his are required to be handled through arbitration under league rules. According to the NFL, Flores’ employment contract gave commissioner Roger Goodell authority to oversee disputes or appoint an independent arbitrator.
However, the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected that argument last year, ruling that the league’s arbitration setup lacked the independence required under federal law. The appeals court sharply criticized the process, even describing the NFL’s arbitration provision as “unworthy even of the name of arbitration.”
By refusing to hear the NFL’s appeal, the Supreme Court effectively leaves that ruling intact and allows Flores’ lawsuit to proceed in federal court.
Flores’ attorneys argued that employers should not be allowed to force workers to bring discrimination claims before arbitrators controlled by the same organization being accused of wrongdoing. The decision marks a significant legal setback for the NFL as it continues to face questions about racial equity in coaching and executive hiring.
See social media’s reaction to the lawsuit below.

Cardi B Expands Her Empire As The New Face Of Luxury Resale Platform FASHIONPHILE

May 28, 2026
The collaboration centers on the company’s new “Get Your Bag” campaign, which highlights the growing demand for pre-owned luxury accessories
Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B is adding another fashion partnership to her growing business portfolio after luxury resale platform FASHIONPHILE named the artist its 2026 global brand ambassador.
The collaboration, announced May 20, centers on the company’s new “Get Your Bag” campaign, which highlights the growing demand for pre-owned luxury accessories and the resale market’s emphasis on long-term value. According to the company, the campaign was photographed in New York City and features Cardi B showcasing a curated selection of rare and high-end designer pieces.
“I love a good bag, but I love a smart buy too. I love Fashionphile because they really have it all. The rare pieces, the classics, and everything’s authentic,” said Cardi, according to Complex. “This partnership made sense because we both care about quality, style, and getting to the bag!”
A post shared by Cardi B (@iamcardib)
Founded in 1999 by Sarah Davis, FASHIONPHILE has become one of the leading luxury resale retailers specializing in authenticated handbags, jewelry, and accessories from brands including Hermès, Chanel, and Goyard. The company has also expanded its retail footprint with locations in New York and Los Angeles while positioning itself within the growing circular fashion economy.
The company said in a press release that Cardi B’s influence in fashion and her reputation as a collector made her a natural fit for the campaign. The rapper has frequently showcased her extensive luxury handbag collection online, including rare Birkin bags and archival designer pieces.
“At FASHIONPHILE, we’ve always believed that ultra-luxury is an investment, not just a purchase,” said Davis, founder and president of FASHIONPHILE. “Cardi embodies that mindset in a way that’s both aspirational and real. She understands the value behind these pieces and brings a level of visibility and energy that expands how people think about resale.”
The campaign also includes a curated edit of Cardi B-approved items available through the resale platform. FASHIONPHILE said the initiative reflects the brand’s “shop-and-sell” model, which encourages consumers to buy, resell, and reinvest in luxury fashion.
The endorsement marks another major business move for Cardi B, whose fashion partnerships have included campaigns with Reebok, Balenciaga, and Fashion Nova.

Tia Mowry gives fans a glimpse at her new romance after divorce from Cory Hardrict

Mowry’s vacation carousel featured beachside moments, luxury resort views and candid snapshots with her mystery partner.

Tia Mowry is giving fans a glimpse into her new romance following her divorce from Cory Hardrict.
The actress shared a series of photos on Instagram from a recent vacation to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, including a smiling beach selfie with her new partner. The post marks one of the first times Mowry has publicly shared images featuring her mystery boyfriend since ending her marriage in 2023.
The carousel included snapshots from the couple’s stay at the Nobu Hotel Los Cabos, showing poolside meals, cocktails, beach views and moments from what appeared to be a relaxing luxury retreat. One photo showed Mowry laughing while posing beside her partner, who wore sunglasses and a white T-shirt. Another image captured him sketching a portrait of the actress during an art session.
A post shared by TiaMowry (@tiamowry)
“A little sunshine, a little peace, and a much-needed reset,” Mowry captioned the post. “Had the best time staying at @nobuloscabos.”
The update comes months after Mowry spoke candidly with People about rediscovering herself after her divorce. In a March interview, the Family Reunion star said she spent a long period focusing on healing, self-reflection and intentional dating before entering a new relationship.
“I manifested this,” Mowry told People at the time. “I was really able to learn who I am, what it was that I wanted, and what it was that I needed.”
While the actress has not publicly identified her new partner, she previously said she wanted to protect the privacy of the relationship while also confirming that she is “very happy.”
Mowry also credited close friend Gabrielle Union for helping her navigate life after divorce. Speaking at the Jhpiego Laughter Is the Best Medicine Gala earlier this year, Mowry described Union as a major source of support throughout the past several years.
“She has been an angel for me for the past four years,” Mowry said of Union. “I always tell her, I’m like, ‘You literally took me up under your wing.’”
Mowry and Hardrict announced their separation in 2022 before finalizing their divorce in 2023. The former couple share two children, son Cree and daughter Cairo.

Succeeding In The Age of Artificial Intelligence

May 28, 2026
Lester McPherson Challenges African Americans and Minorities to Embrace this Explosive Technology
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become part of much of today’s society: entertainment, customer service, manufacturing, and — yes — even medicine. It’s transforming how Americans live, work, and lead. No one knows it better than Lester McPherson, director of Global Specialized Delivery at AWS. He says AI is here to stay and encouraged everyone who attended last year’s XCEL Summit For Men to embrace it.
Understanding the opportunities and risks associated with its development and integration will be critical to tomorrow’s career success. And while a heated debate centers on AI ultimately replacing the human workforce, instead, McPherson wants today’s Black men and women to learn how humans can collaborate with AI. Noting that there aren’t enough African Americans and minorities in this space, but opportunities are everywhere.
As BLACK ENTERPRISE approaches its 10th anniversary of the XCEL Summit For Men this year, both the editors of BLACK ENTERPRISE and the many panelists who attended this past Summit encourage everyone to stand out as leaders in the age of AI. Listen to McPherson, one of last year’s panelists, make his case in this short clip from his on-stage interview with moderator Dwayne Dixon, managing principal of Dwayne Dixon International.

Heir says Cezanne watercolour in Basel show was lost due to Nazi persecution

Paul Cezanne, La Montagne Sainte Victoire (around 1888) Public domain
A watercolour on show in the Fondation Beyeler’s recent exhibition devoted to Paul Cezanne once belonged to a Jewish businessman who lost it due to Nazi persecution, according to a researcher working for the heir of Gustav Schweitzer, a Jewish businessman who fled Berlin in 1935.
The provenance researcher, Willi Korte, unearthed documents in the Basel public archives chronicling Schweitzer’s loan of the around 1888 watercolour depicting the Montagne Sainte Victoire to the city’s Kunsthalle for a 1936 exhibition. Correspondence between the curator in Basel and Schweitzer or his secretary continued until 1939, when she wrote from Paris to confirm the watercolour’s safe return. How Schweitzer lost ownership of the work is not known, Korte says.
“But this means it was either sold under duress after Schweitzer had fled Germany, or it was looted in Nazi-occupied territory,” he says. Korte urged the Fondation Beyeler to keep hold of the watercolour. “The Fondation Beyeler should live up to its historical obligation to actively contribute to a fair and just solution,” he says.
The watercolour was one of 79 works on show in the Basel exhibition Cezanne, which ended Monday (25 May). Its lender is listed in the catalogue only as an unnamed private collector; according to the Cezanne catalogue raisonné, the current owner is US-based. A spokesperson for the Fondation Beyeler said in a statement that it will return the work to the lender.
“The lender of the watercolour will be informed of the suspicion that has been raised,” the spokesperson stated. “As a matter of principle, a Swiss museum has no authority to retain artworks without an appropriate legal basis.”
Responding to Korte’s accusations that the museum should have been more diligent in examining the provenance of works loaned to its exhibition, the foundation’s spokesperson said that “it is not possible to research the provenance histories of works loaned to temporary exhibitions with the same depth as works in the museum’s own collection”. The spokesperson added that the work was not listed on lostart.de, a German database of Nazi-era losses.
Research into Schweitzer’s collection and biography has begun only since his grandson became aware of the lost art in 2024, thanks to the publication of a report on the controversial Bührle Collection on loan to Zurich’s Kunsthaus. Led by the president of the German Historical Museum, Raphael Gross, the research team investigated Vincent van Gogh’s Head of a Peasant Woman (1885), which was also owned by Schweitzer. The report recommended further research into the painting’s history, saying a loss due to persecution could not be ruled out.
The correspondence Korte discovered in the Basel archive reveals that Schweitzer asked the Kunsthalle curator to keep the Cezanne watercolour safe after the 1936 exhibition there and enquired whether he might be able to find a buyer for it. The curator had the work restored at Schweitzer’s expense. But after no sale came about, he sent it back to Schweitzer’s secretary in 1939.
By that time, Schweitzer had left Paris for Asia on a business trip from which he never returned—he died of a heart attack in Manila in 1939. His secretary was deported from Paris in 1942 and was killed a week later at Auschwitz. Schweitzer’s wife fled to the US in 1938 and was joined by their son after the war; the sole heir, the couple’s grandson, lives in the US.
Georg Kreis, a historian who has been a member of a number of expert panels investigating Switzerland’s role in the Nazi era, suggested that the Fondation Beyeler should serve as a mediator between Schweitzer’s grandson and the current holder of the watercolour.
“With a heavy cloud of suspicion hanging over it, this work will become unsaleable,” Kreis says. “A solution by mutual agreement must lead to the acknowledgement that the original owner lost it due to Nazi persecution. And rather than empty words, the descendants of the original owner should receive compensation, in line with common practice.”
A painting by Egon Schiele is among those bought back by the institutions from where they were confiscated
The experts were hired after a previous iteration of the show was deemed inadequate in addressing the dark legacy of Emil Georg Bührle, who made his fortune selling weapons to Nazi Germany
Petition calls for more transparency in planned display of the collection of Emil Georg Bührle, who bought Nazi-looted art with a fortune built on weapons

BLERD ALERT! Black Celebrity Video Game Voice Actors We Love

As rock icon Lenny Kravitz makes his gaming debut in ‘007 First Light,’ we reflect on the best video game voice acting roles by Black celebs.
The new age of gaming has gone in the big-budget blockbuster route when it comes to gameplay, graphics and choosing an ensemble cast of voice actors.
The new 007 First Light game feels every bit like a Hollywood premiere, complete with rock legend Lenny Kravitz joining the cast to voice main antagonist, Bawma.
RELATED: BLERD ALERT! 20 Coolest Animated Music Moments
Not too long after the game was first announced last December, Kravitz sat with IGN to give some insight into what it was like channeling a villain as one of the most beloved musicians on the planet. He tells the outlet, “I’ve met some folks that are… similar to his character. I grew up in the Bahamas as well as New York City and there were guys who had [Bawma’s] vibe and were doing similar things in the islands.” In reference to locking down on the voice acting, he adds, “It took a moment, but eventually we found the sweet spot.”
Of course, it got us thinking about the many other celebrities of our culture who also brought their cinematic prowess to the console world. Many of them went all out by not just lending their voices but also scanning their full likeness. The results are uncanny in every detail, giving the cutscenes between gaming way more emphasis from a viewing perspective. With graphics steadily increasing and more stars lookin for their next big franchise, we could be seeing a future where interactive cinematography becomes the norm.

Boots On The Ground: ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’ Arrives This October & Will Drop On The Nintendo Switch 2

Copyright © 2026 Interactive One, LLC. All Rights Reserved.
Modern Warfare 4 will not be on the PS4 or Xbox One consoles, ending a run that first began in 2013 with Call of Duty: Ghosts.
In life, these things are guaranteed: death, taxes, and a new Call of Duty game. Activision hit its timelines with a massive care package: a trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.
Get ready, COD fans, specifically those of Modern Warfare, we officially go boots on the ground again on October 23, 2026, when Modern Warfare 4, developed by Infinity Ward, launches on PS5, Xbox Series X / S, PC, and for the first time, the Nintendo Switch 2, a product of the 10-year deal Activision inked with the house of Mario.
Also, for those who haven’t made the leap to the PS5 or Xbox Series X, Modern Warfare 4 will not be on the PS4 or Xbox One consoles, ending a run that first began in 2013 with Call of Duty: Ghosts.
With that out of the way, let’s get into this trailer, which teases another epic globetrotting spectacle that will see favorites like Captain Price and Ghost return as they try to thwart another global catastrophe.
The description of the game, per Activision, reads:
War erupts on the Korean Peninsula as North Korea launches a full-scale invasion that threatens to destabilize the world in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. A young squad of South Korean soldiers fight to survive on the collapsing front lines, while half a world away a vengeful Captain Price wages a personal war from the shadows as he stays one step ahead of those hunting him. As Price’s off-book mission collides with the forces behind the invasion, the war spreads beyond anyone’s control.
That’s not all that was announced. Activision also shared what players can expect from multiplayer while confirming DMZ is returning.
Here are the descriptions per a press release.
Multiplayer delivers grounded, precise combat, built around fluid movement that provides greater control than ever before. Multiplayer introduces Ballistic Authority, a new weapons-first innovation that brings the most authentic Modern Warfare gunplay yet. Modern Warfare 4 will launch with 12 Core maps, spanning visually distinct locations around the world, plus Kill Block, a new and dynamic battleground that reconfigures its layout between rounds across more than 500 configurations.
DMZ returns as the definitive Call of Duty extraction experience, dropping solo players and squads into a shifting combat zone where every deployment plays out differently. Additional details for DMZ will drop on June 7.
Modern Warfare 4’s trailer makes it look like we are going back to the action we loved in the single-player.
Consider us hyped.

Texas Primary Runoff For Senate Seat Reveals Rift In GOP

Copyright © 2026 Interactive One, LLC. All Rights Reserved.
President Donald Trump may have hurt the GOP’s midterm prospects by endorsing the scandal-prone Ken Paxton in Texas’ primary runoff election.
You know, I’m remiss to call Texas’ runoff primary for the GOP’s senate nominee a “test of President Donald Trump’s grip on the Republican Party” simply because recent elections in Indiana and Kentucky have shown that yes, Trump still holds an iron grip in deep red states. That being said, should Trump get his way in the Texas primary, it may actually be more of a headache for the Republican Party come the midterms.
According to the Washington Post, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has consistently led incumbent Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) in the polls. After Trump formally endorsed Paxton last week, his edge in the polls increased further. “It was the kiss of death for Cornyn,” Rep. Lance Gooden (R-Texas), a Paxton supporter, told the Post of Trump’s endorsement.
While Cornyn narrowly beat Paxton in their initial primary, hard-line conservatives, who are trending toward Paxton, tend to show up in higher numbers during runoff elections. GOP operatives have spent weeks trying to convince Trump to back Cornyn, as they believe backing Paxton endangers what has traditionally been a safe seat. What’s crazy is that in doing some research, I couldn’t find a tangible thing that Cornyn did to draw Trump’s ire. I guess if he simply perceives you as disloyal, that’s a wrap.
Crazy how the GOP still rallies around a temperamental president who has shown no qualms about ruining their political prospects over hurt feelings.
Paxton’s tenure as Texas’ attorney general has been scandal-prone, with Paxton facing several allegations of corruption, financial malfeasance, and infidelity. So basically, Trump’s kind of guy. Paxton has been well behind Cornyn and James Tallarico, the Democratic nominee, in fundraising. Cornyn has expressed concerns that, should Paxton secure the nomination, it would require the GOP to spend more money than they otherwise would have in what has long been a safe Senate seat.
We care about your data. See our privacy policy.
“It would be hundreds of millions of dollars, and there’s still a good chance he would lose,” Cornyn told supporters Thursday at a campaign stop in Houston. Early polling has shown that a race between Cornyn and Tallarico would be relatively tight, with Tallarico leading in a potential race against Paxton. If Tallarico does beat Paxton in the midterms, it would be the first time in 30 years that a Republican has lost a statewide election in Texas.
“Republicans made their bed a long time ago when they tied themselves to an unpopular agenda of higher prices that’s crushing Texans every day,” Madison Andrus, a spokesperson for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, said in a statement. “But if they want to nominate another extremist to dig themselves even deeper in the hole, they can be our guest.” While Trump’s polling has been underwater nationally, his endorsement still carries weight with conservatives in traditionally deep red states. Despite Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) voting in lockstep with his GOP colleagues 90% of the time, his push to release the Epstein files drew Trump’s ire, with Trump endorsing Massie’s primary challenger Ed Gallrein.
Massie summed up his predicament fairly well during an attempted ambush interview with conservative influencer and all-around weirdo Laura Loomer. “I thought you knew. I vote with Republicans 91% of the time, and the 9% I don’t, they’re taking up for pedophiles, starting another war, or bankrupting our country.”
Massie ultimately lost his reelection bid last week. A similar story played out in Indiana, where several incumbent state senators lost their reelection bids to Trump-endorsed candidates. Their mistake? Listening to their constituents and voting against a redistricting effort requested by Trump.
So with that recent history in mind, it should come as no surprise if Paxton winds up securing the Senate nomination tonight. Personally, I’m not going to complain if Trump winds up shooting the GOP in the foot cause he was in his feelings.

‘Nemesis’ Has Us Thinking About The Best, Boldest & Most Questionable Black TV Cops Ever

There is something about a good TV cop drama that keeps audiences locked in season after season. Since Netflix’s Nemesis release, we are thinking about the best, boldest and most questionable Black TV cops ever. Check out our list inside.
What is it with cop drama that makes fans so locked in? Maybe it is the suspense. Maybe it is the moral gray areas. Or maybe it is watching characters try to balance justice, loyalty, and survival in systems that rarely make things simple. Black television officers, in particular, have often carried some of the most layered storylines on screen. They are not always perfect heroes, but they are memorable, charismatic and complicated enough to spark conversation long after the credits roll.
With buzz building around Netflix’s Nemesis and Matthew Law’s portrayal of Detective Isaiah Stiles, viewers are once again talking about the kinds of officers we root for, side-eye, and occasionally question. Stiles enters the conversation as a sharp and intense detective who seems determined to get results no matter the personal cost. That complexity is exactly what makes Black TV officers such a fascinating part of pop culture history.
Over the years, shows from Law & Order to The Wire and Chicago P.D. have delivered characters who brought humanity, swagger, emotional depth, and real-world tension to the badge.
Detective Isaiah Stiles – Nemesis
Matthew Law’s Detective Isaiah Stiles brings a gritty energy that feels both classic and modern. He is calculated, emotionally guarded, and clearly carrying the weight of every case he touches.

Kevin Atwater – Chicago P.D.
Played by LaRoyce Hawkins, Atwater has become one of the most respected officers on television because of his emotional intelligence and integrity. He constantly navigates the tension between policing and protecting his community, which makes his storylines hit harder.
Detective Odafin “Fin” Tutuola – Law & Order: SVU
Ice-T turned Fin into one of television’s most beloved detectives. His blunt honesty and loyalty made him a standout for decades.
Lieutenant Anita Van Buren – Law & Order
Played by S. Epatha Merkerson, Van Buren remains one of the greatest TV bosses ever. Calm under pressure and endlessly commanding, she set the standard.
Detective Shakima Greggs – The Wire
Sonja Sohn delivered one of the most underrated performances in crime drama history. Greggs was fearless, observant, and emotionally complex.
Detective Bunk Moreland – The Wire
Played by Wendell Pierce, Bunk balanced humor, intelligence, and moral conflict in a way few television characters ever have.
Whether they are bending rules — fighting corruption or simply trying to survive another shift — Black TV officers continue to give audiences some of the most unforgettable characters on television. Who’s your favorite? Comment below.
