A’ja Wilson Goes Viral For Brutally Plowing Into WNBA Staffer Ahead Of Regular Season Finale

Wilson and the staffer seem fine, but the embarrassment might have stung more.
A’ja Wilson ended the regular season with a bang, and we’re not talking about her dropping 17 points in the first quarter, tying her third-most scoring quarter in her career.
Last night was the final game of the WNBA season, and Wilson’s Las Vegas Aces were in Arizona to take on the Phoenix Mercury. But the talk of the night happened before the Aces even took the court.
The Aces were running from the visiting locker room to the arena’s center when a staffer in a headset peeked behind the curtain, expecting the team to run through.
Unfortunately, she timed the check-in at the wrong time, and all 6 feet and 4 inches of Wilson came plowing through the curtain and knocking the woman flat to the ground.
After the loud thud, a shocked Wilson asked the woman if she was okay while her teammates behind her made sure to stop the stampede of Aces players behind her.
The woman nods, immediately gets up, and glues herself to the edge of the rafters so the team can continue its pregame run to the court.
Wilson was just as powerful on the court as the Aces jumped ahead to a 32-18 lead and cruised to an easy 100-82 win, largely helped by Wilson’s 34-point performance. The double-double cemented her impressive regular-season stats of 26.2 points (first in the league) and 9.4 rebounds per game.
But just as Wilson had to move quickly from a near-tackle to lock in for the game, it’s time for the Aces to focus on the WNBA playoffs, which kick off Sunday, Sept. 27.
The third-place Aces will face Caitlin Clark’s sixth-seeded Indiana Fever. Other first-round matchups include the top-ranked Minnesota Lynx and the New York Liberty, Golden State Valkyries and Dallas Wings, and Angel Reese’s Atlanta Dream up against the Washington Mystics.
