Raimundo Carvalho, born in Biritinga – Bahia, graduated in Philosophy UFBA, post-graduated in UNEB education and master’s degree in education – Kyre’y Sãso – Paraguay, Artistic director of the ONG FULÔ da CAATINGA – Self-taught plastic artist is based on forced nature through his roots, leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds, bark, clays, sand and stones. Hence the title of eco artist. His art is still grounded: paintings, drawings, sculptures and poetry. It still feeds on the manifestations of Popular Culture in the Sertaneja – specifically in the Sertão do Sisal Baiano Region. The festivities like the Folias de Reis Roubado, the Rocinha carnival, the nights of Rezas and litanies, the stories and cases, the work of the farm as crops and crops of beans, corn, manioc, umbus and the fiber of sisal. Party nights with forró and samba de roda with their masters and popular masters. Typical figures such as rezadeiras, farmers, cowboys with their songs and their aboios. And the Biritinga indigenous people and their rich history. And as a fundamental base, it has in the Caatinga Biome with its pulsations of life, love, beauty and joy that it bases with its back country pulsations through smells, odors, echoes, flavors, knowledge that are perpetuated in perfumes in colors and textures that unfold in poetic pulsations in time eternally. It is from this beauty that Eco Artist nourishes itself with inspiration for its art.
