Instructor — Andromeda Cook: A Journey of Healing, Expression, and Community Andromeda Cook is more than an artist; she’s a guiding light for healing, self-expression, and community empowerment. As a mother, homeschool teacher, and former elementary school writing literacy and visual arts teacher, Andromeda’s multifaceted experiences enrich her artistic vision. With roots deeply embedded in North and South Philadelphia, her art is a testament to the resilience and spirit of her ancestors, including her grandfathers—Joe Rose, the legendary boxing trainer, and Donald Cook, Past Master Mason. Their entrepreneurial legacy fuels Andromeda’s passion for uplifting others through her creations. Her art, currently displayed at Penn Medicine Hospital in the form of large, life-size pieces, radiates healing and inspires hope in those who encounter it. Additionally, her work is showcased at the esteemed October Art Gallery Museum, where her art pieces speak volumes about the power of words, putting God first, and highlighting that love is the highest frequency. Heal thyself, know thyself. Beyond galleries, Andromeda extends her influence to unexpected places, such as the Pilates studio Brewerytown Pilates in the heart of North Philly, and various other locations around Philadelphia and beyond, where her art adds depth and inspiration to the spaces. But Andromeda’s commitment to her community goes beyond the canvas. She offers free art classes to those in her neighborhood, empowering them to explore their creativity and find comfort in self-expression. Through her social media influence, she amplifies messages of healing, self-love, and the transformative power of art, connecting with audiences worldwide and keeping her family’s strong legacy alive. Join Andromeda on her journey of healing, expression, and community upliftment. Explore her work and feel the transformative power of words and art. And don’t forget to catch her art on the Showtime TV series “The Chi” Season 5 Episode 4.
