‘B’Day’ Blessings: Jay-Z Surprises Beyoncé With Sweet Serenade & Fireworks At London Concert For Her 45th Birthday

Jay-Z paused his London Jay-Z 30 concert to surprise Beyoncé with a fireworks show and the whole crowd singing “Happy Birthday” with him.
The Roc Romance doesn’t take any days off, even when Jay-Z is on the road overseas! It’s Queen Bey’s birthday, after all!
While in London for the JAŸ-Z 30 Tour on Sept. 4, there was something bigger to celebrate than 30 years of Reasonable Doubt and 25 years of The Blueprint: Beyoncé’s birthday! While he was onstage at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, hubby Hov pushed pause on the show to celebrate Bey turning 45.
In a clip going viral on both sides of the Atlantic, Jay-Z coordinated with camera operators and the production team to ensure they had a shot of Beyoncé on the Jumbotron. During the three-night opening of the concert series, the Black Is King star kicked off the show with Jay-Z. On Friday, the birthday baddie was enjoying a night off and chilling in a box suite with friends.
The crowd went wild when the live shot of Bey appeared onscreen for all the stadium to see. She smiled, waved, and threw up on the Roc symbol in support of her man. Several fans clocked that Act III must be on the way because she’s always in work mode when we see her in a big black hoodie. Fingers crossed!
Jay-Z started to sing “Happy Birthday” with a few thousand of his fans backing him up. The surprises didn’t end there. Right on cue, a fireworks display lit up the night sky. The stunned singer said, “Oh my God!” as the light show continued.
As BOSSIP previously reported, Beyoncé kicked off the celebration of her birthday with a 20th anniversary deluxe edition of B’DAY, an album that gave us classics like “Déjà Vu” and “Irreplaceable.” In addition to the RIAA certified quintuple platinum album’s original hits, the new 31-track release includes remastered versions of previously unreleased songs like “Creole” and “Lost Yo Mind.” She also surprised fans with new songs and features.
For the first time, Beyoncé collaborated with Maluma for “Cuerpo Tumbao (Get Me Bodied).” The bilingual banger is also a nod to Celia Cruz with a sample of her song, “La Negra Tiene Tumbao.”
One of the biggest surprises of the B’DAY deluxe drop is an unreleased duet with the late great Selena Quintanilla, whom Beyoncé named as an inspiration for her Spanish releases, such as the 2007 Spanish EP, Irreemplazable. Selena’s estate granted permission for the Texas titan to create the duet “Irreemplazable (Como La Flor)” that is now available on the special edition album.
Fans can’t wait to see how the milestone celebration continues.
Happy B’Day, Beyoncé!
