It’s the latest — and biggest — milestone in a historic run for “Choosin’ Texas.”
At 19 weeks, the song tied Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Old Town Road” and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” for the longest-running No. 1 by a non-holiday song.
A week later, “Choosin’ Texas” broke that record with its 20th week at No. 1 before continuing its run at the top.
Last week, Langley reached another level of history when the song earned its 22nd week at No. 1, tying Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” for the all-time record.
Now, the record belongs to Langley.
With a 23rd week at No. 1, “Choosin’ Texas” has officially spent more time atop the Billboard Hot 100 than any other song in the chart’s history.
In addition to the Billboard record, “Choosin’ Texas” surpassed Post Malone and 21 Savage’s “rockstar” for the longest-running No. 1 song on the U.S. Spotify chart, according to Country Central. “rockstar” held the record at 125 days.
The song’s massive year was also apparent in the 2026 CMA Awards nominations. “Choosin’ Texas” earned nominations for Single of the Year, Song of the Year and Music Video of the Year, while Langley leads all artists with nine nominations overall.
What started as one of the biggest country hits of the year has now become something even bigger: the longest-running No. 1 song the Billboard Hot 100 has ever seen.
